Snowbush IP SATA PHYs are based on a proprietary hybrid analog/digital architecture that offers low power and compact area, while exceeding key electrical specifications, like transmit jitter and receive jitter tolerance, for robust performance in challenging SoC environments.
Since our first SATA PHY delivery in 2001, our design has been refined and enhanced over multiple generations and has an extensive production record. It has been proven in more than 18 foundry processes and has been shipped in over 100 million hard drives to date, ensuring a low-risk, highly manufacturable solution. As a leader in serial interface IP, Snowbush is the first to deliver PHY IP for the new SATA 6Gb/s standard.
Snowbush IP SATA PHYs include several important features and advantages designed to ensure the successful integration of these high performance I/Os into your ASIC products. Features like on-chip SSC generation, allowing designers to develop SATA solutions without the need for an expensive external SSC oscillator. The SATA PHYs also features highly scalable power consumption, and sophisticated power management modes for ultra low-power operation. Robust Manufacturing test support is provided via BIST, 7 internal loop-back modes, and on-chip pattern generators and checkers supporting both user-defined and industry-standard PRBS data patterns.
