The Snowbush low power, high-performance PCI Express (PCIe) PHYs shorten development time and risk associated with SoC designs for high-performance computing, and supports the PCI Express 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 specifications, and incorporates the industry-standard PIPE interface. Snowbush IP offers a complete PCIe PHY and Controller solution that has been silicon-proven with more processes and foundries than any other IP vendor. The solution lowers the risk and time associated with integrating IP from different vendors. Additionally, interoperability with any PIPE-compliant PCI Express controller is supported.

Snowbush PCIe IP leverages our high-performance multi-standard SerDes (Serializer-Deserializer) technology to exceed key performance specifications of the PCI Express specification, while maintaining robust operation over a range of process, voltage, and temperature variations. Snowbush PCIe PHYs feature highly scalable power consumption and support all the PIPE specified power management modes allowing ultra low-power operation. The programmable nature of the PHY allows system designers to configure the transmit driver amplitude, pre-emphasis, slew rate, receive equalization, etc. to meet system requirements while maintaining the lowest possible power consumption. Snowbush PHYs also include various testability and diagnostic features including BIST, various internal loop-back modes, on-chip pattern generator and checkers supporting both user-defined and industry-standard PRBS data patterns, and digital diagnostic bus.
